Getting close?

Beau and Adde bring wood to the wood stove. That thing keeps our house WARM!

So just a happy note - here is the pile of laundary that I did in 3 loads...thats right 3 loads with my new AMAZING washer and dryer! The only downfall - now folding takes longer with so many more clothes clean at one time ;)

Our Door project over Thanksgiving weekend. Stain and varnish! Thanks Tom and Bridgette for the time to get it done!

Dining room table that my mom picked out - matches everything perfectly!

Our kitchen with countertops...and not finished island. Working on it! Any ideas for between the microwave and upper cabinets?

Our newly stained and varnished front door.

Thanks Dan for helping with siding. They got from the window up to here in what - 3 hours? kicked butt!

Light at the end of the Tunnel - Painting wise

So...a lot of light fixtures in - some turned out better than I thought they would...some not rushing into! A lot of painting done - just 3 areas to go! Slowly but surely turning into an actual house and not so much a construction zone! Just a lot of pictures to take in!

Our light in the entry way. Was a bit worried that it would look too small but ended up looking great I think.

My new appliances just delivered and BEGGING to be installed...esp my dishwasher. Asking for it daily!

The "playroom". I know everyone was skeptical on the paint when looking at it but I think it turned out looking fantastic!

Our Beautiful Trim - Thanks Kennedy Crew! And Jason for helping put it up.

To be kitchen area painted a light Tan to please Beau

The living area - a darker brown

My blue stripes....

My pink and green stripes!

Paint Paint Paint

The house looks like we made a LOT of progress this weekend thanks again to a LOT of help! Lee, Katie, Henry and Grace came out Friday night - Lee framed the tub - Katie brought amazing chili to eat...so much better than Subway - and Henry and Adde did a great job getting started on painting the living room. I think they were going for the antiqued look.

Saturday we had a packed house with Papa, Kris, Mike, and Jaime out at the house to help and Erin, Joe and Mimi at home to play! We got the upstairs mostly painted...turned out to be a lot of greens I think. Didn't get a picture of the Lime green sitting room - but will try to add it soon. Thank you Thank you - so much change!

Jackson's Room...top color is named Sweet baby boy - they had me sold on that one in a minute

Adde's Green Garden room awaiting the pink stripes...

The In-Law bedroom

And best of all...........thanks Tom and Beau for the TOILET - and yes it flushes!!!!!!!! Good-bye portapotty!

Drywall part 2

Here are a couple good pics of Jackson and Adde out at the house Sunday. jackson was tuckered out from NOT sleeping - but getting a tooth! and then there's Adde...White as a ghost from helping mom move out pieces of drywall! She was so strong!

They finished on Saturday about 2:30ish! So fast! It all looks so good and only missing 3-4 wires/can lights ;) Shots of the bedroom and the bonus room.

Drywall

In the end - decided to hire out the drywall and mudding/taping. Good decision. What would have taken us forever took them about 16 hours. Maybe. All I can say is wow - watching them throw those HUGE pieces of drywall up and screw them in - all while standing on stilts! This is what all the rooms looked like on Friday when they left at 7. (2 guys started at about 8 and 2 others showed up about 5:30 that night). They got all the ceilings done...and 1/2 the walls!

Living room

Adde helping out in the garage...she was sorting Beau's bits and tools out for him ;)

Uncle Josh came to help out for the week - Thank you!

It's Electric

Big Brian taking the skidsteer for a spin...I think he had a good time while Meghan and I slaved away painting!

I got to run the blue wires for speakers in the house while Beau did all the important stuff and Bruce the uncle guy checked to make sure he was doing right! Thanks for the help!

THis is Plumber Dave holding Beau on the roof while Beau puts a vent on the upstairs bathroom...scaling the roof.

The side of the house that I finally finished painting.

We also finally got garage doors! and they match the house perfectly - the garage door man did a fantastic job recommending them! All in all right now the house is completely painted - the plumbing has had the pressure test done (and passed - Thanks Dave) and the electric is SO close to done! Should be able to start insulation next week and then onto what I hear is the really fun part - drywall and mud/taping!

So I guess when you get a septic system you need a drainfield too. City girl learning all these new, fancy terms ;) Anyway - I think what your looking at is all the gravel that had to be put down to cover the pipes to and in the drainfield. The last picture is the house with all the electrical line heading into the house. That made it in Tuesday night and I guess there are outlets and all that jazz as of last night! Electrician Beau has been hard at work the last few nights...beating out the heat with the big fan he tells me.

Just when you thought

I sincerely thought we were done digging big holes and trenches...but Bruce the digger guy came back and dug a HUGE trench from the house, around the well and to the shed. I think it was the hottest day ever recorded on earth this day - but they were out there and Beau was jumping in and out of the trench like a deer. What did the guys want to eat? McDonalds. Nothing like hot greasy food on a super hot day. ug. Anyway - the pictures are of the front of the house with the trench for the water and electric lines off to the right. The second picture is the lines going into (or I guess near at this point) the woodstove. Third is Beau and Brian's work of art
They accomplished all of that in ONE DAY! Thanks Brian and Jamie for coming to help out-truely appreciated again!
